quarters allowance will cease on the completion of the

New Post Office Building in 1909.

It is proposed to put both the

Superintendent of the Registration and Parcels Branch,

Mr. T. Martin, and the Superintendent of Mails, Mr. R. A.

J. Savage, who now draw £280 per annum as approved in Your

Lordship's Confidential Despatch of the 19th. January,

1906, on the scale of £300 to £345 by triennial increments

of £15, as suggested in my Confidential Despatch of the

11th. December, 1905.

I propose further to offer the

First Clerk at Shanghai, Mr. John Charles Kaye, who now

draws,

on a scale of $1,800 to $2,100, $1,920 with Ex-

-change Compensation, which is equivalent to £290 per

annum, a salary of £300 to £345 with £15 triennial incre-

-ments.

The salaries which in accordance

with the above would ultimately be paid to junior officers

in the Post Office, are:-

Accountant

Superintendent,Money Order Office

Senior Clerk,

Superintendent,Registration and

Parcels Branch

Superintendent of Malls

First Clerk, Shanghai

£300 to £345 by £15 triennially.
